On October 6 the band and I will be playing at The Whistler as part of their Playing Favorites series.  In this series they ask Chicago bands to choose a record that got them into music in the first place, then cover it top to bottom.  I chose the iconic Joni Mitchell album, Blue, a masterpiece and also the record I first heard at 16, the one that made that difficult year bearable and gave me a vision of what it might mean to write music.  A perfect record, and a humbling challenge as a performer.  Join us, won’t you?  New City previewed the show and thinks you should come out.
